Three Champions League games down, five still to play. The useful question now is not who looks good in a new kit: it is who can stay on course for a direct place in the last 16.
This is our 2026-27 Champions League update after Matchday 3, with the main results, selected clubs' points and a practical Matchday 4 alarm-clock guide for Australian supporters. Results and fixtures were checked on 24 October; this is a dated snapshot, not a live league table.
Why the top eight matter
In UEFA's league phase, the top eight finishers advance straight to the round of 16. Teams finishing ninth to 24th enter knockout phase play-offs; 25th to 36th are eliminated. Each club plays eight league-phase matches. See UEFA's format explanation.
That makes the race more interesting than a win-or-bust headline. A draw away from home can protect an unbeaten start, while a big win can repair goal difference. Nobody has secured a top-eight finish after three matches, and early points are a platform rather than a qualification guarantee.
Matchday 3: the results to know
- Liverpool 4-3 Villarreal: Liverpool kept their perfect start.
- Real Madrid 4-1 Leipzig: Madrid also reached nine points.
- Bayern Munich 2-2 Arsenal: both stayed unbeaten.
- Manchester City 5-1 AEK Athens: City returned to winning ways.
- PSG 4-2 Barcelona: another win for Paris.
- Como 4-1 Manchester United: a setback for United.

After three games: PSG, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Real Betis have 9 points each; Arsenal 7; Manchester City and Dortmund 6; Bayern 5; Manchester United 3. Points calculated from UEFA's published results. This is a selection, not a ranked table.
For the next round, keep three questions in mind: can the unbeaten sides maintain their cushion, which teams can respond to a heavy defeat, and where might a draw leave a club needing more from its remaining home games? Those are more useful talking points than declaring a favourite from one scoreline.

Your next-round checklist
- Choose the match: save the Australian date, not just the European fixture date.
- Choose how to follow: check access to the match or plan a replay before work. Turn off score notifications if you want to avoid spoilers.
- Check the jersey listing: confirm season, size, standard versus Authentic and whether any printing is included.
- Plan ahead for personalisation: our printing page explains options. Ask about the correct lettering and lead time rather than assuming a Champions League name set is ready immediately.
Quick questions
Is this the current live Champions League table?
No. It is a Matchday 3 snapshot checked on 24 October 2026. Use UEFA's live standings for positions and later updates.
Do Brisbane and Sydney have the same kick-off times?
Not in November. Sydney and Melbourne are one hour ahead of Brisbane during daylight saving. The table separates them so you can set the correct alarm.
